Alsace Rhin Brisach gives a variety of hiking trails accessible to all. Each route highlights the local heritage, natural spaces and biodiversity of the region. Information panels accompany the walks and some tours include child-friendly activities to make the experience even more engaging. 

The discovery circuit • Neuf-Brisach

Follow in the footsteps of Vauban and discover, at your own pace, the specific features of the Neuf-Brisach fortification. More than 40 information panels take you, step by step, from the city center to the second ditch of the fortifications via the Vauban canal.

The Old Canal Trail • Hirtzfelden

Its bird feeder, its educational garden, its orchard, its pond, its forest, its observatory footbridge… so many things to discover! On the trail, several educational panels help you discover the wetlands and forests of this corner of nature.

The botanical trail • Heiteren

This Hardtwald trail highlights the diversity of tree and shrub species typical of the Hardt.

Departure from Rue du Château d'Eau

The Old Canal Arboretum • Munchhouse

Family • 1h • 1,3 km

A real invitation to stroll along the Rhone-Rhine canal. Play the budding naturalist by observing the trees and shrubs typical of the Hardt, or the different nest boxes and shelters installed along the trail to promote biodiversity.

Picnic tables are arranged to rest and enjoy this botanical space.

The botanical trail • Widensolen

Family • 45 min to 1h • 1,4 km - 2,6 km

Located in the Kastenwald forest, two marked trails are offered. There are more than 30 species of trees and a tumulus from the Bronze or Iron Age (1500-480 BC). Part of this trail runs along the canal, which is crossed by two footbridges.

The Garrulus Trail • Blodelsheim

Family • 1h30 • 3,2 km

Intended for adults and children alike, this fun trail invites you to crisscross the fields and the edge of the forest. Discover fauna and flora of the Hardt forests and the Muhlbach river. On this path, you pass by the old dike that once protected the village of Blodelsheim floods of the Rhine.

The Fort discovery trail • Obersaasheim

Family • 45 min to 2h • 1,6 km - 3,4 km

This trail includes two marked circuits dotted with around ten information panels presenting the fauna and flora as well as the heritage.
