In 2000, Joël Halbardier founded the Saint-Alphonse brewery. In the beginning, beer was brewed at his home. The master brewer's passion quickly began to pay off, and his beers have gained notoriety in the area. In 2014, to expand its business, the brewery moved to the former village hall of Vogelgrun, a small village in the Alsace plain located on the banks of the Rhine.
Fun fact: The brewery's emblem is represented by the Vogelgrun coat of arms and its name comes from the patron saint of the town.
The Suff'Bier craft brewery, created in 2018, produces original unfiltered and unpasteurized beers. They are elaborated by brewer William Geber, which regularly changes its recipes according to the seasons. The use of high quality raw materials (Malt de France and Houblon d’Alsace) is an obvious choice in respect of brewing traditions.
During the summer period, from May to September, the master brewer opens the doors of his charming Biergarten, located in the annex of the brewery. The opportunity to savor the different brewery creations, accompanied by a delicious range of small catering options.
The Saint-Alphonse and Suff'Bier breweries both offer a wide range of craft beers: blonde, amber, pils, IPA…! And throughout the year and the seasons: spring beer, Christmas beer, cherry beer, etc…
