In Neuf-Brisach, it is not only Vauban's fortifications that will surprise you. Inside an old casemate of the Place Forte a treasure of Urban Art is hidden: the MAUSA Vauban- Museum of Urban Art and Street Art.
Internationally renowned artists have invested no less than 1200m² of a former casemate, nestled inside the ramparts of the Vauban citadel of Neuf-Brisach, to form the MAUSA Vauban. Exit the gilded frames, here the works are made directly on the walls of the casemate.
Even before entering the museum, the small outdoor courtyard of the museum already offers you a nice preview of what awaits you inside. A real dive into this colorful universe where works are everywhere : on walls, corridors, ceilings, sometimes even on the floor!
The museum is a work in progress, meaning new works continue to be produced regularly. Therefor you can see the artists at work! During their residency, moments of exchange are generally organized to meet the graffiti artists.
