Its star-shaped aerial view is intriguing… Its history dates back to the 17th century. Built on the orders of King Louis XIV, it was Vauban who drew up the plans. His ideal city was created in 1699. Neuf-Brisach is the most advanced defensive system in Europe.

Park on the Place d'Armes, parking is free. Why not get some strength before you start your day? The salon de thé Birké or Hertzog bakery and pastry offer you very good pastries and breakfast options. Then follow the direction of Rue de Belfort. The Belfort Gate houses the Vauban Museum where you will learn more about the history of the city and its fortifications. After your visit, cross the Gate and then go down the stairs that take you to the 1st ditch. Follow the pedestrian path on the right. Stroll around the fortifications to discover this masterpiece of military architecture.

Take a break for lunch in one of the city ​​restaurants. For a meal on the go, different picnic areas are easily accessible. End your day with a visit to the MAUSA Museum that houses street art inside old casemates! Internationally renowned artistscreated their works directly on the walls of the fortifications.
