All the fortifications are also freely accessible for a short break in the heart of nature.

Park on the Rhine Island, before crossing the Rhine Bridge. A few steps away from free parking spots, you will find a picnic area along the Rhine. Unfold your blanket, open your parasol or sit at one of the tables. Children can also have fun on the playground. Enjoy the change of scenery with a breathtaking view of the Breisach am Rhein Cathedral.

Park on one of the various car parks in the city centre of Breisach am Rhein, they are free (parking disc for 2 hours). Head towards the Rhine, a few minutes' walk away, and settle in. Tables and benches are located around the children's playground, to relax by the water. For more peace of mind, you can head towards the Rhine Gate or Rheintor, a vast green area awaits you.

An outdoor park is located at 22 rue des Pêcheurs.
Quiet area along the Giessen. At the back of the park, there are many picnic tables as well as several playgrounds and sports equipment.
