A festival that embodies the identity of an entire village
It is impossible to mention Blodelsheim without talking about its emblem: the goose, or ‘d’Ganz’ in Alsatian. The goose, in fact, gives its name to this festival, which has become one of the town’s major festive events.
Over the years, the S’Ganza Fascht has become much more than just a village festival. It brings generations together in a shared spirit of togetherness and celebrates the warm welcome that characterises the villages of the Alsace plain.
The program
Over the course of the two weekends, the S'Ganza Fascht brings Blodelsheim to life with a programme of entertainment and social gatherings.
The festivities begin on the first weekend, with the traditional flea ball (in the center of the village), before giving way to large flea market, one of the most anticipated events of the festival.
Afterwork of the harvest, gourmet walk, meal dancing, music, light refreshments and Alsatian specialties The second weekend then takes place in a festive atmosphere. To conclude the festivities, a grand fireworks comes to illuminate the sky of Blodelsheim !
In Alsatian, ‘Ganz’ means ‘goose’. This animal has long been the emblem of Blodelsheim and still features in the village’s identity today. It is therefore only natural that the village festival should be called ‘S’Ganza Fascht’, literally ‘the goose festival’.
